Merc 190 E 1986 Intermittent Cutting out.......

My Dad owns a 1986 Merc 190 E auto. Since buying the car a few months ago he has had a intermittent fault with the car.

Every so often , the car cuts out and will not restart for about a minute to a couple of minutes.

So far he has replaced; the ECU , Fuel Pump , Fuel Filter , Leads , Dizzy Cap. To no avail.

I read on another thread about the Airflow meter causing another site user grief , do you think this could be the same problem as on my Dad's car?

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.

This was checked out before and deemed to be ok.

Hi

The OVP is situated behind the battery behind the black cover. Its discription is silver with a red top with a fuse in it.

If its is the OVP. You will have to replace the relay. As it is the relay causing the problem & NOT a blown fuse.
