merc 190e-1993

just a quick question -does the 190e,1.8 litre, 1993 spec car have a plastic cover below the the engine to protect the oil sump cover and to prevent debris entering the the engine bay from below?

mine does not have one-has it fallen off or is it not fitted as standard on this car?

thanks ,willy-so it would appear that it is not a standard fit on uk cars, our american counterparts however, have the sump guards fitted as standard on their 190e-2.3 and 2.6 litre cars.

I'm sure they were standard,do you have the mounting brackets to allow you to fit one?

Hi Sunil.

My 1987 2 Litre 190 had the belly pan on it, its the first car ive had with one attached and they do make for a very clean engine bay. Plus the old favourite of driving through a huge puddle and killing the engine isnt so much of a threat.

As to whether it was standard fit or not i really dont know.....

I would imagine it was one of the 3 million extra's you could have chosen when you bought a merc back in the 80's!
