Hi Guys

Im New here... wondering if you could help? I have a S reg A class 140 and has the following problem. I put my foot down on the clutch pedal this morning and it stayed down on the floor!! I called the RAC and he said it was the Clutch Master Cylinder without even looking at it, He lifted the pedal and hey presto its working again. Can anyone tell me where i can find this master cylinder?? Or how i could test it??? Anyone know how much it would cost to replace it? A m8 of mine told me that the engine needs to come off and the gearbox out... Anyway I hope you can help

The clutch Master cylinder is inside the car built into the pedal assembly your mate is confusing it with the slave cylinder which is built into the clutch release bearing and does indeed entail splitting the gearbox from the engine to gain access, I don't know whether that entails removal of the engine and transmission from the car :-?

P.S. heres a link to a schematic showing the slave cylinder and release bearing item No. 8 http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...501&VIN=*&CT=GM&cat=23U&SID=26&SGR=512&SGN=01 and heres another showing your Master cylinder item No5. http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...506716.507&CT=F&cat=66A&SID=29&SGR=030&SGN=02
