merc c180 remote windows/sunroof closing

Hi,
can anyone help?

1997 c180,window and sunroof used to shut with remote key fob but know they will not.Doors still lock and unlock no problem.I tried changing battries in remote but it made no diferance.Has anyone had the same problem. :

You have to point the bopper at the IR receiver in either front door handle, it does not work on radio but IR so has a limited range.
