merc -c200-rattly sound from front end of engine.

it is a c200-1997.

i have noticed this rattling sound from the front end of the engine while it is idling-it makes the car almost sound like a diesel.

what could be causing this? :?:

anyone experience this one. :?:

Almost certainly the tensioner - I had mine replaced last week
and its much quieter (though another noise up front was the rad fan bearing which was shot and very loud).
