I have an E240 which had an Audio 10 Radio/CD. The CD went so I have replaced the unit with a Blaupunkt Travel Pilot E1.
The original harness is not fully wired and I cannot find a diagram to check what pins do what. If they match the wiring requirements of the Blaupunkt then I am missing the Gala/Speedo cable (Block A pin 1); reversing light signal (Pin 3) and, most bizarely, Ignition (pin 7).
I am really confused about the lack of a power feed from the ignition because the original radio switched off with the ignition - HOW? The Blaupunkt just stays on. Even worse, if the radio is on when I switch on the ignition the TravelPilot turns off.
I have seen Arnie's excellent posts on the speedo problem (but the www.siemensvdo.au.com link is no longer active) but can anyone advise me on the ignition problem of let me know the original connections on the A plug.
Finally there are two cables in the D plug (brown) in pins 9 & 10. What do these do? Steering wheel control? Should I replug the one in 10 to pin 7 to work with the TravelPilot E1?
I thank you in advance for your help.
