Merc S320 CDI 2001 frozen / dead speedo !

Hi guys im new on here and was after some kind advice.

I was driving on the motorway yesterday and I enabled the cruise control when i noticed the speedo lights fade out..at this point the speedo neeldes were still working but after a few minutes the whole speedo froze at 80mph along with the fuel, Temp and rev needles.

I called out the RAC who checked both fuse boxes under the bonnet and the one below the rear seats with no luck. Also the interior lights are not working and the headlights come on even if they are turned off.

I would appreciate any help from you pro's.

Kind of scared to take it to main dealer incase they hand me a LARGE bill.

Try taking it to an independant, someone that ha s a Star diagnostic, they will check fault codes, could just need reseting.

cheers guys, I went to the Main Dealers today to see what they say, Theyve booked it in for tuesday and said as its on a Y 2001 plate its out of warranty but they will try push it through as good will. Lets see what happens...
