Merc transmission specialist Yorkshire

Hi all, does anyone know a Merc auto transmission specialist in Yorkshire? Had my C63 at an Indy who thinks the gearbox needs replacing/reconditioning, they don’t do that kind of work so I need some who knows what they are doing

i would be looking for a more convincing answer from my garage. Merx garages are pretty bomb proof.

What do you mean Merx garages are bombproof? The gearbox was full of sludge and they think the only place this could have come from is the wet clutch

Not sure on the specifics but it’s well within the scheduled time/mileage. The car is now undriveable as it seems the clutch pack has locked up

It had delayed shifting for a while and typically it completely failed on my way to the Indy

Dont know of a merc transmission specialist per se. But find someone reputable who does gearboxes and you will be fine. Given the rarity of your car and the fact that merc gearboxes are pretty bomb proof i would envisage very few have been rebuilt over the years. You will get there in the end.

Typically it only came out of hibernation last Friday and died the same day

Might be worth having a chat with Prestige Motor Engineers in Ossett, they see a lot of AMG’s and will no doubt know a gearbox specialist (if required)

I meant the Gearbox, they should be serviced at 5 years then every 4 after that
