Hello, it's my first visit to the site because I've never had any problems before. Anyway I have a 1992 190E that has a 'mercedes approved alarm' with an immobiliser. It looks factory fitted to me but who knows? I've never had any trouble with it till last week when suddenly the immobiliser won't turn off. Usually as soon as the key fob goes near the dashboard it turns off.. but only intermittently now. Can I somehow bypass the system or switch it off permanently? Or does anyone know where to get more info?

I'd be grateful for any help... it's driving me nuts!!! Cheers.

Most of the "Mercedes Approved" alarms were dealer-fitted in the UK. I think the best thing to do with an old alarm is to rip it out and replace it with a new immobiliser
