hi i have seen the various posts regarding the sudden change of an engine to running rough, this has happened with mine to the extent I can barely get it to runand when it does it feels like I have miss wired the plugs. Having changed plugs and coils, to no improved result I suspect possibly the crank position sensor? however, with very little space between the back of the engine and the bulkhead, it is extremely difficult to locate it. Can anyone tell me exactly where it can be found on the engine, I am assuming it's easy enough to release once it is found?
many thanks for any assistance

1996... That will be the straight 6 engine which isn't known for eating crank sensors. Crank sensors when they fail don't usually give misfires either - more usually a refusal to start when hot or suddenly cutting out completely.

What you're describing is more likely a coil breaking down but without reading the ECU codes that's just a guess as is anything else.

Thank you for responding so quickly< the coils were my first thought, but even after replacing them with new plugs there was no difference, so desperately trying work my way through other possible causes.
