Can anyone shed some light on this issue I have with the above truck, I've had it about 2 months and use it as a race lorry,. When I come to a junction and have to stop, the engine cuts out, it will start straight back up and runs really well when at speed . It did this before the service work was done, all filters changed , oil change done, I also put some injector cleaner through it but still cuts out, any help with this would be fantastic

It sounds more like an electrical fault rather than manual issue.
Sometimes the only way forward is to have it scanned, though can be an issue with a race only vehicle.
What area are you in, might help as someone maybe able to come out to you with a scanner.
Hello and welcome by the way, you must be our first Mercedes race truck? ;)

are you sure you are not hitting the engine cut off switch in the footwell with your foot its easily done, what is the idle speed like it could be that the throttle linkage is worn and is coming back to far on the pump shutting the engine off i would tilt the cab over and run it up and operate the throttle you will soon see if its coming back to far, these are really simple vehicles to work on no electrics involved,if i remember rightly they have an idle speed adjuster on the steering column i bet the throttle stop is too low or it could be the exhaust brake is not working properly it could be partially seized thats what the little button is on the floor not engine cut off but exhaust brake.

Thanks for the reply, It is converted to a camper van with storage for mx bikes in the rear. I will try what you suggested , I know it's not the floor cut off as I have consciously kept away from it , but will try the idle adjuster (now I know what it is lol)

its going to be something really simple i cut my teeth on these vehicles back in the day, play around with the adjuster the idle speed is dropping to low and cutting out.might be worth having a look at the linkage as there are a lot of rods and ball joints as its converted from left hand drive, there is a cross shaft which runs along the front the bushes can wear and the shaft can become seized.
