Hi, I'm in a really sticky situation & need some advice.
My lovely car alarm has decided to go crazy.
Currently the key fob doesn't open the car or disabled the alarm, I can manually open the door with the key but then the alarm goes off. To make matters worse the override fob that is supposed to be used in this situation by sliding into a special jack in the glove box doesn't work either.
I have changed the batteries in the main key but this still doesn't make it function, I even tested the new batteries to check they were pushing the right voltage.
The strange thing is the car still drives from manually opening the door but with the alarm and hazard lights going off as I embarrassingly found out the other day when having to drive home like that.
I really don't know what steps I need to take to get my car back on the road.
I have spoken to Mercedes technical department & they are at a loss as they think putting the key in the ignition & starting the car should stop this, but doesn't.
Any help or ideas will be very greatfully received.
