mercedes a160 missing

hi i have a mercedes a class s reg it keeps missing and wont accelerate past 4000 revs even at idle ive had a diagnostic test but was told it might not reveal anything it revealed lamda sensor and that it was missing continuously but only slightly i have changed the lamda sensor the core pack and spark plugs but still doing it any ideas

There is a limiter that stops the engine going past 4k in nuetral, it is incorparated in the fuel pump relay, the switching is done elswhere, so could be switch or relay.

Hi there sound like and air mass fault common with these, air mass meter though is complete with engine ECU and will not be cheap.
