Hello members,
We had this stunning Mercedes AMG GT-R Pro in for our Stage 2 package
Client bought this GTR Pro a couple of weeks back and it made its way directly to us as the GTR Pro is incredible but lacks the drama of Pre facelift models.
On inspection and initial Dyno testing we found the vehicle to be 200bhp down on power, what is common on modern AMGs is a lack of function on exhaust valves causes a huge drop in power.
Another thing that struck us was that we recognised this number plate being at another tuning company which had had a Stage 2 package installed with a ridiculous "Pop and Bang" map installed which had indeed blow the passenger side valve to pieces! The shaft of the butterfly valve was completely bent meaning zero movement on the valve and the car then limits the power.
The dealer he bought it from paid for a BRAND new exhaust from Mercedes which we organised along with brand new Michelin CUP2s
After install of the OEM system with new titanium silencer and new valve controller modules the car was fighting fit again and we got to work.
Got to work as usual checking tyres, dif, coolant, oil and fuel quality while running diagnostics on the vehicle while letting everything cool as these run very hot and can soak while sitting very easily.
Multiple runs and sweep test along with different RPM tests.
Logs went to plan and vehicle was behaving as we would expect to the customers delight.
OEM - 577bhp and 750nm
Real - 373bhp and 668nm
Fixed - 574bhp and 765nm
Stage 2 - 688bhp and 904nm
Have attached an image to some of the bits we have to keep these things cool when performing sweep tests and steady state testing! 2 Large high pressure fans for front rad pack and 2 dedicated auxiliary cooler shooters for the side rads....
She responded beautifully
