Does anyone have an instruction booklet for the above that they wouldn't mind finding problem solving in?
Can't get the da*n thing to register itself at our position, even though it reads the co-ordinates correctly. V 10 disks.
Whenever it plots a route, it does it as though it were in Berlin. The school run is niow 733 miles long and involves a ferry crossing.
Any ideas anyone?

fixed it, sort of

after a call to Becker service in the uk, who were as helpful as they could be inasmuch as they don't deal with " mercedes"- branded becker equipment. The engineer said that problems such as mine were usually as a result of a corrupt disc. This annoyed me a bit, as the discs I have are Merc originals, v10 issue. Anyway, I purchased a v9 set and installed those, and wonder of wonders, the unit reset itself to where we live, and plotted routes perfectly. If I re-install v10, it goes wonky again and sets itself somewhere else. However, route plotted properly or not, it won't actually navigate me anywhere, and the unit just stays virtually at home.
I put up with this for a month, with only one exception, when it jumped into life halfway along a route and navigated me to the destination ( but would'nt navigate me back), and got wiggy with it yesterday. I swapped it for the Blaupunkt travel pilot e1 from my own car, which works perfectly. Guess what. Recognizes where we are, but won't do any navigating. Better still, there is a nice diagnostic screen in the Blaupinkt, and from it I could see no speed signal to the unit.
I put the Becker in my own car, and bingo, it worked perfectly once I'd driven around the block a few times to zero it in.
The problem is obviously there is some trouble with the speed pulse signal to the satnav/hifi from the 210. This is confirmed as the GAL on both beckers and the blaupunkt doesn't work.
I'm sure I can remedy this, but I'm not about to start just now. One for the summer I think, as I don't fancy tracing wires in this weather.
