Hello all, I am a New member here and have owned a Mercedes C350 2013 for the past 4 years, I have just checked online for a service B and its showing as £755 which seems very excessive, it does not make sense regarding the parts required for a B service and the hours of labour required ?
Is there something I am missing ?
Thanks for any help / feedback

Hello and welcome

I‘m presuming that is at a Mercedes dealership, put ypu location in your profile and you’ll most likely get some recommendations of decent Mercedes “Indies“ that can service your car for an awful lot less and look after your car to a generally higher standard

If its due a plug and ATF change and maybe a brake fluid change it all adds up. Then there's air/fuel filters and maybe other additional items either mileage or age dependant.
£755 isn't unduly expensive from a main dealer if you include some of the above on top of the usual oil/filter and health check.

Put your car details into this site and you'll see what should be done. Then get a quote from an indy and decide.

Is it petrol or diesel, and what "additional work" is the service site saying it needs?

Worth selecting other dealers as sometimes the prices car vary - Inchcape owned dealers used to discount service labour by 50% (but they're notorious for trying find other work).

As others have suggested, now would be a good time to start building a relationship with an indie. If you really want to stick with the dealer, see if there's a ServiceCare package that work for you.

Hi and welcome to the forum :) I have just had a B1 service + brake fluid change on mine at an Independent and the service + health check was £430 inc. VAT. Brake fluid check was £35 so you need to find an Indy rather than taking it to a Stealer :)

Just had a B service on my car at an Indy, the bill was a little higher than what you’ve been quoted (cough £1500 hit my credit card for the service), but I had a lot of other work done too meaning pretty much every fluid and filter has been changed in the car, so it will see me right for quite a few years now

Hello and a huge thanks for all the replies, very interesting to see such different price differences, I suppose in my mind I was thinking surely the labour hours cannot be that much along with the parts like oil and filters ?
I will take a look at the link so kindly provided and try and get more detail on what is required, from what I can see much of what is easily doable but obviously you do not get your full service history signed.

Yes, depends what they are doing, so brake fluid and spark plugs usually puts up the cost nicely

Just keep the receipts and log when the parts were fitted.

Is your Petrol or Diesel??

Hello all when I click on the additional parts required from the online service quote system I get the below..

Replace air filter element £143.16
Replace fuel filter £160.62

These prices seem very steep just for the parts ? am I missing something ?
Huge thanks for the service suggestions which I will look into.

The fuel filter is usually £82+vat from mb. Not sure if that includes labour.

Air filter seems very high considering its a 15 minute job.
