im sure you guys have heard it before or even had it done to you! some guy in broad day light ripped the swivel badge of my bonnet yesterday ******* anyway can u still buy these badges from mercedes or is it a case of the scrappy? and how much do these cost?

just thought i was so angry that there was a 3*1" piece of metal which i threw as it was on my bonnet now im worried that it was part of the badge from underneath!!

If you mean the upright star then yes. They're not too expensive. I think I paid about £12 from the dealers.

when u buy the star is it just a case of clicking into place not other fiddly bits?

Two different stars available depending on if your car has it on the grill or on the bonnet itself. 220E v E220 for example.
Fairly straightforward to fit. Might need a pliers. Pop it in the hole and twist the bottom but 90 degrees as far as I remember.
Got mine from German Swedish the last time. About £12 sounds right.

dont buy from ebay - lost are cheap copies that cost the same as a proper merc one from the dealer.
Most dealers will fit them for you if you ask, FOC as a goodwill gesture.

Seconded, the dealer is usually cheaper than E Bay, and you are sure it is the right one.

As jberks says, just ask the dealer how to fit it and a nice man in blue overalls and a pair of pliers comes out to show you and within three minutes he has it done.
