The basic manuals are on the MB web site. May not be quite right for your particular car but they are close. Other than that, you can buy them from the dealer, get them off ebay or from a Merc breaker.

Marked EC (for economy) if you have one. Red light on = Aircon off. Found on the heater control panel in the middle of the buttons!
Most of the stuff like that hasn't changed since 03 so the online manuals will do the trick.

Don't touch the button marked ESP. That is the Electronic Stability Program control. Should not be deactivated. A/C would be controlled from a unit below the radio.

The A/C Unit looks a bit like a radio. Its mounted right at the bottom of the console below the little diddy box under the radio. It sounds like you do have one. The two buttons marked 18,22.26 control each side of the car. The button in the middle with a red light is the economy button which puts the system onto automatic. The front windscreen button turns on a fast defrost and the rear windcreen button controls the rear screen heater.

I do not have a button in the middle with a red light althou seems a big old unit just for a heater.

Hmm..the red light is not obvious unless its actually illuminated. The button is marked EC.

Yes - its designed for aircon, but in cars without, they just put a big air recirc button in instead. Sorry but it does seem you don't have aircon. I thought they had fitted it as standard in all cars since '98 but it seems its a corner they cut in the classic models.
Not really a big issue in this climate. I had mine turned off this morning anyway!

unless of course you are a bit of a boy racer. It's much more fun with this turned off.

I don't know how to create a link to anohter thread but run a search for "CD Changer" and look for a thread called "new to the forum and some q's..."

I'll have a look in my manual tonight and let you know what it says.
