Mercedes Benz E240 Steering Wheel Adjustmenmt

Hi

I own a mercedes benz e240 avantgarge (year 2000 model)

Can somebody please help me - i have a small problem
Does anyone know how to adjust the steering wheel on the car (for my dad to drive - he would like it higher). The manual is pretty poor in that it does not provide instruction and points in the direction of an electronic panel which we do not have

No adjustment on mine whatsoever.

There was a minor facelift in 2000. Mine was pre-facelift so wasn't adjustable but later ones were. If it is, there will be a handle where you'd expect it to be, under the column. No handle, no adjustment. If its a 2.4 E240 then it won't have it. The 2.6 version should.
