mercedes-benz takes on specialists

hi everyone, 1st timer, just like to praise my local dealer in grimsby. over the past few weeks i've had a few running problems took it to a local garage they couldn't pin point the problem. bit the bullet and rang mb grimsby they said pop it down. took it in they gave me a short test while i waited, found the air mass sensor playing up they had one in stock. i asked them to quote me, their labour rates about £120.00 i thought maybe i could buy the part and fit it myself. but they said because my cars over 5 year old i was eligable for a 50% discount on the rate. i had it fitted and now it runs like a dream. they call the service 30 40 50 3 years old 30% discount 4years old 40% and 5years 50% anyone heard of this at their garage?

True, but he said his local garage, not necessarily a Mercedes specialist.

My local dealer, Whitefield, would only ever give me a maximum of 10% discount as part of the 3+ scheme. Quoted £344 for a B service. Anyone know if MB Manchester or Stockport offer this scheme?

The title suggests that it was a specialist.

I think MB Stockport would probably offer less discount as it borders quite affluent areas, whereas MB Manchester is overlooked by an ugly council development......Eastlands

Thanks Nige, I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Yes it is a bit grim around their parts though their 'catchment' (central manchester) is arguably far more affluent.

Just having a cheap jibe at man city fans Jacob, but on a more serious note, a couple of years ago i called in MB Stockport to see if i could do a p/x deal only to be told that all the sales team where on their coffee break!! I have only been a few times to MB Manchester (and only for parts) so can't really comment on service dicounts.
