Ventilation of the C class consists of 3 Systems

A Partial Load system
B Wide Open throttle system
C Oil Separator

Crankcase is vented by the line from the air intake pipe

When partial load line is functioning ventilation occurs from the oil separator to the charge distributor.

When the wide operation line is functioning ventilation takes place from the oil separator to the air intake pipe. The wide open throttle line has a heater to prevent freezing in cold weather conditions.

Blow by gases are removed from the oil filler neck to the oil separator. The oil separator is connected to the crankcase through a port

Diagram Explained
  1. Oil separator ventilation system
  2. Oil separator
  3. Engine Ventilation
  4. Purge Valve
  5. Tank Ventilation connection
    R39/2 Wide vent line heater
Y58/2 Partial load Crankcase ventilation Valve

The Error P052E71 is relating to this valve Crancase ventilation valve ( part number A0009975012 )that forms the partial load ventilation system. This part is also know as the Vacuum valve/solenoid valve. My Autel software calls it the Crankcase Ventilation valve. To confirm that this was the valve I removed the wire connector powering this valve to get another error which gave me open circuit on the Vent Valve which confirmed that this was the valve I needed to fix.

I opened the valve and blew through it and noticed some light resistance. Powering this solenoid valve closed the port inside to allow no air to get through at all. I believe in the open position it was partially blocking air from getting through hence blockage error. After working it a few times I plugged it back in and no error P052E71. I drove the vehicle for a good 5-10 miles and no error. I will be changing this part as the valve could get stuck again.
