Hello forum members,

The C180 CGI (1.8 Turbo) Runs the Siemens SIM271DE management system which requires ECU removal and bench calibration.

We got to work doing what we always do for any vehicle that comes through our door and that's a full inspection of control modules and visual inspection of drive train components.

After all checks completed we got to work performing multiple sweep tests while monitoring and logging data.

From this we began the tuning process once again with multiple sweep tests and steady state testing in a range of gears at multiple loads.

Stock vehicle made 153bhp and 253nm of torque
GAD Stage 1 calibration 206bhp and 364nm
Gaining +53bhp and +111nm of torque

Below are plots and shots.

For any enquires please feel free to pop me an email to info@gadtuning.co.uk or call direct on 05603 67 21 09

Hi Anthony

Impressive from a modest starting position (for a 1.8 petrol turbo)
The resultant numbers are more akin to what you would expect these days, but that doesn't take anything away from the unlock you achieved!

That's a very flat torque 'curve' from the factory though. Expected or not?

By the way, out of interest, how often do you uncover a red flag on a car in the drive train area that holds back you from doing a remap (on an MB or any other marque)?

Yes torque is what we expected for sure. I think there has been only once when we have rejected a car and that was due to a nail that had made its way into the tyre so had to be rectified before we could proceed! Also another time we rejected an AMG as the customer was running sub standard fuelling.

As for actual drive train issues our clients are 99% of the time very much enthusiasts so the level that they keep there vehicles maintained to is very high!

Many thanks
