- 2002 C200 K Sports Coupe
Hi this is my first post with regards to actually doing anything on my new to me C200K sports coupe. I need to know what can be done to retrofit Bluetooth connectivity to my car. On the dash there is a bracket that I think originally held a cradle. Below that there is a large square grommet where I can see some cut off wires towards the back of the hole. I have included a picture of the cradle. There is a what looks like a microphone on the roof center console. the bracket seems different to all the ones that I have see pictured on this site but I think it is a Mercedes product. When I select phone on the steering wheel I am greeted with the display "NO PHONE".
So my questions, I have read that on some cars there is a plug in the central arm rest there is none in mine. I have read that there might be one in the glove box, I can't find one easily in my glove box. Before taking my dash apart can anyone confirm that there is probably one back there somewhere? If so, I am thinking of fitting a Bluetooth puck.
My next question is what functionality will I have exactly. I would like to be able to make and receive calls while listening to the local radio or playing cds. Have control of that from the steering wheel buttons. That's all nothing fancy.
I have searched the site and there is lots of interesting threads but none that I have found that deals with an installation like mine. Worst case I will just fit a double din header unit using the myriad harnesses required for steefing wheel control but that just seems overkill for what I need.
Thanks for any answers in advance
