Mercedes c180 coupe 2012
Hi,

I am thinking of purchasing either of these models.

What are timing belt/cambelt intervals on these models?

They have chains and changing is not required like cam belts. However there is a lot of discussion here as to the longevity of the newer ones.

Most of the people will suggest you c250 but my suggestion is c220. I believe you should have c220 model rather than c250.

Are we talking CGI Petrol, or CDI Diesel?

CDI wise I would go with the 250 every time. Economy is next to no different and if one of the later models 2010- IIRC the twin turbo setup makes it so much more responsive from 0-20 when pulling away from junctions.

I agree, the 250 is the best all rounder.
They do have timing chain issues, but it can be curbed by keeping to the service intervals and using good oil.

Ah, the throwing in of the curve ball :p

350 is a lovely smooth engine thats for sure. Its was the much lower real world mpg that put me off getting that engine. Is sweet though.

Single turbo I believe

Yes the W204 C250CGI coupe models used the 1796cc M271 engine which used a single turbocharger and produced 201bhp and 310Nm torque. Previous versions of this engine used superchargers.

The current W205 C200 and C300 coupes have the much improved 1991cc M274 engine in either 181bhp or 241bhp versions and I believe have just a single turbocharger.
