c220 di 2004
hi there

wondered if anyone could help me iv got a c220 cdi 2004 and recently the eml came on. The boys at the local garage plugged it in and can up to much soot in dpf, they put some solution in and said give it a good run out(high revs). they reset the system I gave it a good run and the light stayed off for about 4 days. they then put a new dpf filter on and 2 days later the light has come back on. my uncles friend come round with hes diagnosis kit and plugged it in and it said dpf to much soot again but I haven't even done 60 miles in it. could it maybe be a sensor please help?

Good evening,

Could possibly be some form of soot count that needs resetting?

A 2004 C220 CDi has a DPF?

Introduced in 2004 on the 646 engine as an emmissions package.

I would look at the load state of the DPF, an actual value that can be read by STAR. That is the biggest clue of why the DPF is filling.

Have you had the oil changed recently? If so was low ash oil used? If not when is the next service due? Filthy oil can bring up this fault code.

Check the injector performance, DPF could fill if your injectors are shot. SO many things to check other than resetting a light and thrashing it.
