Mercedes CLK 320 Avantgarde 3.2 Automatic

HI,

I am considering buying the above car, registered in 2000 - never had a mercedes before - what are your view on this make and model - anything I should look out for?

First thing is rust. Check all the body over.

Hi,
Make sure all the dash warning lights work, and then extinguish as they should.
Check everything works as it should.
As Black C55 rust was an issue with Mercedes of this age.

I have the very same car but mine is 2001.

Rust is a problem, I have it coming on the wheel arches, windscreen pillar and anywhere you get a chip in the paintwork.

No other major problems other than:-

1. Indicator stalk replacement.
2. If facelift model check the indicator bulb works - £65 to replace
3. Diff seals replaced.
4. General wear & tear.
5. Dash lights - no temperature gauge as LED does not work
