Mercedes Clk 430 Rusting Wheel Arches - How To Get It Fixed!

Hello!

I have a 2000 CLK 430 which had started to rust around the wheels arches (quite a comon problem for the all modern mercedes it seems).

I took the car to Mercedes Blackpool, who have a bodyshop, they were very pleasant and photographed the car, and sent the pictures off to Germany. They also noted some rust on the boot lid and sills which they photographed too.

I got a call about a week later to say that I had been approved for a repray of the front wings, rear wings, boot lid, and doors (since they are needed to match). I was astounded of the level of service, they lent me a brand new C200 CDI courtesy car for a week and I returned to find my CLK looking like new!

Very good service from mercedes, even if it shouldnt have rusted in the first place!

People and companies make mistakes - its basic human nature. The good thing here is that MB have acknowledged the problem and dealt with it.
In the long term the cost saving that MB tried has failed and is now costing them dearly.

Sad to see your steed now up for sale on e-bay. Did the rust issue cause you to lose confidence in the car or is it just time for a change?
