The MAS (or MAF) is seated at the entry of the air cleaner. Odds on that this is your problem and is easy to replace. A MAS failure send the car into limp home mode ie won't rev beyond 3000rpm.

Euro car parts will fix you up or a Bosch agent will supply the internals if your prepared to salvage the outer casing of the old unit.

Revving problem

Hi Jukebox

I had a similar problem. It was the hose on the air intake collapsing when I revved and restricting the air supply. Simple to check get the engine revved with the bonnet up and watch the pipe
