mercedes ecu fix re programing - flashing

helo all
we have mercedes bosch problem , we spread this problems to many forums but without any response !!!!!
the problem is when the mercedes screen tell us that ( start error ) this mean that the owner must change the car ECU , ???
we have info that there's tools for fixing the ECU ,
our question is :
1- can MB Das fix the ecu error's , and what cables or device we need to access the ecu , without using the obdii ,

2- what ecu flashing mean

3- what ecu remapping mean

4- what is the best tools for re programming the mercedes bosch ecu and installing the new data for it , in order to fix it


CAn any one tell us , and if theres any question pls tell us to specify more

also we think this is very important for all mercedes owner to know

well for a start it would be nice to no what model your talking about and what the fault is???? start error is only normally seen on 163 and 168s, star can flash control units, its made for doing it, flashing up a control unit ie,ecu, its to update the older software for a newer sortware, an update, reemapping is not used by mb as any upgrade is part of the software update.

have you used a second hand ECU? if it came from another car it cannot be made to work at all and you will have to buy a new one...

hi, if start error is flashing up it could be the (wsp )or immobilizer has a fault this often occured on sprinter when i worked for commercial dealer. a new one needs ordering a fitting and programming by DAS at your local dealer, because all your keys will need coding to the new ECU.hope this helps. chris.

guys iv posted twice on here, iv spent hours searching after buying a duff ecu on ebay, to cut a long story short google www.sprinterstarterror.com he is williams diesels also and REPAIRS start error, no need for a dealer, no need to buy a new ecu, no need to recover your van, just send them the required units, i had to get them out as i had a wrong ecu fitted from ebay, 308cdi given to me instead of 311, and after 6mth, i again had start error. Honest, this company is worth its weight in gold, no one offered me this service, and if you get stuck, dont waste time like me
