Mercedes CLC 220 2008
Hi guys, I’m not too sure where to post it so I’m posting it in the general chat. I have a Mercedes CLC 220 2008 automatic car. Ive been away for around 4 months and the car has been sitting idle during this time. I’ve come back and I’ve tried to start the car and the key fob won’t turn in the ignition. I’ve tried jump starting it but it’s not working. The red light flashes up when I press the lock/unlock button but nothing on the car responses. I’m not sure if it’s the key that is the problem or the car just has a dead battery so I need to jump start it properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello and welcome

I’ve moved your thread to the electrical section as you’ll need to get your battery charged / replaced
12.6v with engine off is what the battery should be at, anything less and it will beed charging / replacing (if it won’t hold a charge)

Be careful trying to jump start the car.
I've read a few instances of serious electrical problems after a jump start due to voltage spikes.

As above, charge up the battery fully and hopefully it will hold its charge. If not its a new one.
