Following on from another thread where it was mentioned that it would be a good idea to have poll and thread regarding specific dealers so members experiences can be posted and members can make an informed decision about who to use for their servicing/parts etc.

So to start, here is a list of London (North of the river) dealers. Given the limited options available when creating polls, I thought it would be best to let members vote if they've had a positive experience, which I think would be a better indicator when choosing who to use than who's got the least number of bad experiences.

I would counsel anyone to proceed with some caution at MB Brentford. It may be a big dealer, but on Aftersales they take several attempts to get things right, and the service is of the "lip" variety (if you get my drift).

In contrast, I have used MB Park Royal Aftersales (not the Park Royal Direct that is listed above somewhere). They come across as more professional than MB, and are willing to give time over the phone to discuss problems. I'll reserve full judgement until I've had the car in there for some real work though.

I took my car to Brentford for knocking sound from front and rear, they recommended few things needs to be changed and quoted me a huge sum of £1250 and I just said yes fix it after I took my car I hear the same noises again without any change, I took the car back to them and ask them to drive after 2 days(when I dont hear anything from them) I rang them to find out current situation and they have said they cant hear anything so I went there for a drive with there senior technician and yes now they can hear all the noises I was talking about, 3 more days gone no one got back to me after leaving several messages, final I manage to speak to someone and they are saying they still cant find the fault and according to them it could be front suspension and they will give me a price for that on MOnday, WHAT???? I came with couple of problems and they have said it will cost me £1250 to fix it and now they want more money for the same problem!!!!

I am waiting a call from them tomorrow which I am sure they are not going to call me....

Went to Brentford as a walk-in to get a faulty rear seat belt buckle replaced along with a number plate bulb. Needed to get it done urgently otherwise I wouldn't be able to work. They managed to accommodate me, items replaced immediately, offered to valet my car (didn't take it because it was raining), paid up and I went back to work.

It cost quite a bit, but so is loosing a days work.

Brentford seemed fine when I originally went into have some work done. Certainly very friendly. I asked them to look at a small creak in my roof. To be fair out of goodwill they adjusted it and loosened the join while they were doing the other work on my car.

As soon as I picked up the car, I knew something was wrong so drove it straight back. Was told to leave it over a few days as the seals apparently settle with time. Unfortunately, it lets in water so I took it back showing where the roof had been loosened and this is where it all went wrong !!!

Was first told I had to replace seals, in fact two different sets depending on who was in on a particular day. None of them in the offending area either. I persisted and told them that it only started leaking after they had touched it and it would be too much of a coincidence for my seals to fail just after they had worked on it. Never got anywhere, I even got told I had to have the whole roof stripped down to tighten the area that was loose. i had to take in a technical document from Mercedes themselves to prove that the adjustment could be made in less than an hour and not 5 hours like I was being told. At this time they backed down and mentioned it could be done within 2 hours !

Would now not trust a word that they say. They also quoted over £1000 more for a job than a MB dealer only 20 miles away.

Stay well away from them, although the bodyshop on another site are very good and reasonable too.

Still one of the only trades in the world where you can pay plenty, and not have the faults fixed.

One of the printing unions used to do better than that. Typesetters were paid to compile the newspaper at "plain time" (ordinary hourly rate). They then had to stay behind after school and correct any defects on overtime, which was of course a multiple of the aforementioned hourly rate.

Now, I can't see any scope for a conflict of interests in these arrangements, but they were apparently more imaginative than I am?

I suppose in the motor trade the same concerns apply, where a garage can not guarantee a result, and will of course have to charge afresh when further work has to be done. We all accept that this can happen from time to time, but when they suddenly flit from rear suspension to front suspension, it does make you wonder. Inability, or malice?

OMG, I got my car back few days back but didnt get a chance to drive it. After complaining to every single department in Merc Brentford agreed to took the car back in and have a look at my complaints, they agreed to fix the front noise which they think are coming from front suspension mounts.

So after 7 days they replaced the above part and I got a call that its all ready now.

I drove my car and believe you me it feels like driving a truck now, every single speed hump I get a huge rubbing sound from rear suspension, noise from front has improved slightly but I find my steering so hard now, last but not least the worst problem I have now, is a engine running sound which goes up and down and you can even see the rpm needle goes up and down on a stationary car and some times it goes up and down so much that it feels like it will cut the engine off. This problem was never there before and when I speak to them they are saying all we have done is changed the fuel pipes.(As there was a leak in them which was causing diesel smell inside the car).

I feel like crying now I have paid them £1250 to fix it not to break it, dont know what to do now? Any recommendation...
