I have just purchased (yesterday)a 2019 C220D from a non Mercedes dealer.I have just downloaded the Mercedes me app for my smartphone however it is saying its paired with the previous owner,it asks me to contact the main user who can invite me to become a co-user.I dont know the previous owner and I dont wish to be a co owner,am I able to get around this?Thanks in advance

I'm waiting to see a mb dealer . For the same thing . They do some jiggery pokery inside the car to make you the new keeper. Covid 19 is stopping them from doing it.

When I bought mine the dealer sorted it for me over the phone, pretty simple they said.

I think we have had this question before and the outcome was that you can call Mercedes Customer Services using the i button in the car and they do it there and then.

To get the previous owner removed you need to provide proof of ownership along with photo identity.

I got through to HQ in Germany and did it via a video link.

There was a link on the Mercedes me website.

The Mercedes Me dongle was in the Merc that I'm just after buying a few days ago, but I unplugged it, as I'm not sure if I need it or not. What are the benefits or using it? And will probably face the same problem transferring "ownership" ....

As above. The guy on the phone had me searching for a button in the roof console for a while and getting frustrated. My car doesn't have the button but there was a saved contact in address book which I dialled instead.

I also emailed a copy of my driving licence for photo ID.

The whole thing was sorted in less than an hour.

I was in the local MB dealership this week, and explained the situation to the about the car that I had just purchased, and the Mercedes me was the previous registered owner, so they deleted him, and cleared it for me. Now all ( ??? ) I have to do, is to pair it using bluetooth, we will see what happens.
