mercedes ml 270. how to remove o/s/f exterior door handle

Hi. I would like to remove outter o/s/f exterior door handle from ml 270
So that I can remove the main door lock assembly from the door shell

Could anyone advise how to do this.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

The picture that you supplied looks simular to what I need.

but dosn't have info on haw to remove the outter handle.

on the inside of the door shell above the catch thier is a small hole which has a allen key visable.

when you turn it seems to have something todo with the handle not quite sure if this will assit with removal of handle.

thier dosn't seem tobe any other fittings holding the handle on

Ive removed the door card.

have you removed & refitted one of these before

That allen key must be completely undone, the the key part of the lock will then come out. then the rest of the handle slides backwards slighty towards the rear and the handle comes off.

do I need to completly remove the allen key from the door.

will I then be able to remove the door locking sssembly (I will remove the two star drive keys from the lock on the outter part of the door)

when I replace the outter handle does the allen key that secures the handle act as adjustment for the handle or is it just to secure it

No the allen key will say there but be undone, slighty push it, it will help push out the lock.

I think you might have to move the window channel or requlator slightly when trying to get it out.

The door handle on the outside is non adjustable.

I think there migh be more than 2 bolts, take a look at your new one to see.
