Just a quick one, are the part numbers quoted on the Russian web site genuine Mercedes part numbers that my local dealership parts department will understand?

Thanks for that, you are correct, I just tried a couple of the numbers from the russian site in the online parts store, works a treat, a very useful combination of web sites!

yes although I believe some of them are a little out of date. You can also use them in the online parts store - http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/

Am I missing something, or does the Inchcape parts site - see link above - not offer a service for older models? I tried to browse for parts for my 1990 W126, but when I put in the year and model it only offered accessories...

If you're really stuck and looking for something particular, I may be able to help.

I have access to EPCnet. If you provide your full chassis number I'll have a go for you. Provided it's not a list as long as your arm! :)

No promises, as I've not looked for any bits on "older" models.

Cheers

The Inchcape site works great if you use the Mercedes part numbers found by using the Russian Site. I have also found that the Inchcape site is very limited if you search by model number etc.

You find the part number from the Russian site, and then input that number into the Inchcape site to get the cost of the item.

Very easy and useful.

Part numbers do change however due to rationalisation of parts, and other reasons.

The only sure way to get latest info is via the dealer system which you can subscribe to for something like £15 (from memory) per year, and that way by inputting your VIN you know you will always have the latest info and part numbers

Hi

Access to the proper non pirate version of Mercedes EPC on line is 15 Euro (£10/year). The Russian one is out of date and probably totally illegal.

Can't understand why if there is a thread about pirate software etc that it is pulled but there are countless references to the Pirate Russian Website and they are not pulled by the Mods. (Rant over)

The genuine EPC on line rocks get it its a tenner per year and is bang up to date.

Who has said the Russian site is illegal ???????

It is freely available to everyone as it was designed to be.

I have been using the Audi version for years.

Hi

I said it was "probably" totally illegal.

Pay the tenner and have the correct one you wont bother with the Russian one ever again.

I am already a subscriber to the authentic Mercedes online facility since it's availability to the public. I had forgotten how much I paid.

Agreed, it is fantastic, a great feeling of being in control.

However, the Russian one is faster to use for a quick glance at something.

Thanks toby1 and kth286 for advice and willingness to help. I'm not currently in desperate need of a specific part (I'm too busy working on onr of my other non-MB cars at the moment) - but I appreciate the offers and may follow-up when I need to find/identify a part for my W126.
