A message from Jill:

As club secretary I often get people asking for Mercs for weddings, for TV and film work and photo-shoots.

If any forum member would like to make the use of their Mercedes available to people with these needs, then post the Model you have on offer and in future I will point people to this thread.

If there are a few members who do end up earning some extra money doing this then we'd love to receive photos and details for the club magazine, Mercedes Owner: info@mercedesclub.org.uk.

Thanks, Jill

Is it possible for the forum moderator to pull the signatures of members out and compile a list of cars owned? Most of us have our "fleet" listed in the sigs...

Could be done, although I'm not sure what benefit that would be. Firstly the member would have to agree to use of their car and secondly members come and go quite often. According to the front page we have (as of 20:52 on 04/10/07) 20,436 members. Now I'm fairly confident that not all are still active on the forum and it would take a little time to make the list, which would become out of date quite fast. However pls don't let all that stop you from making a list if you want to.:razz:

Yeah, nice one Blobcat.......

Well, compose the list, give it to the TV people, then if the TV people want a car, they can contact us directly, via the forum PM facility.

Or they can sub up here as a member, and just ask the question when they need a car. Not hard, is it?

Looking for 1920/30s mercedes to hire

Hi,

I'm looking for a 1920s / 1930s mercedes to hire for my wedding at Syon House in May 2008.

None of the wedding hire companies seem to have anything like that available - I think mainly due to difficulty and expense of replacements.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks
Naz

One of the problems here is that the moment money is changing hands for use of the car, then the insurance company needs to be involved. You know the phrase 'for hire or reward'................

AIB understand your special Mercedes deserves a special insurance policy. We have a refreshing attitude to insuring high performance, modified, imported or classic and vintage cars and deal with the UK’s leading insurers. We offer discounts for length of ownership, where the vehicle is kept overnight and limiting the mileage and can also cater for those clients who need higher mileage and business use. To obtain a quotation please call the team on 02380 268351 or visit us atAIB Insurance
