Although I am very happy with my E-Class, I still have this longing to own an S-Class, just for the comfort and toys, big kid.
If I do take the plunge I would like to get a top spec car, probably 2005, can anyone tell me if it is possible to load POI's into the Sat-Nav unit fitted to the S-Class, i.e. speed camera sites, or would I still have to use my Garmin Sat-Nav if I wanted to retain this feature.

Mine was an 04 and you couldn't on that. Also, the postcode entry is just for the first half of the code. I used a TomTom but that sometimes had trouble getting a signal from behind the IR glass.

Its as Stumpy says you cant loads anything into the comand system

I have recently upgraded my S Class COMAND to v 8. There are several categories of POI in the COMAND system (filling stations, motorway services, cash points and 6 to 8 others), but no speed cameras and no means of means of adding other information.

Units like Garmin and Tom Tom can presumably be upgraded online? :???:
