MY CAR W2211222XXXXX ENGINE 642 /08 S320 CDI L
PRIOR CAR W126 560 SEC 1990

1) AT
THE FIRST "A" SERVICE BY MERC IPSWICH AT 15000 MILES OIL REPLACED WITH SHELL HELIX 229.5 [RATHER THAN 229,51 THE LOW ASH OIL] THIS IS WRONG OIL I THINK. SINCE DONE 10000 ON THE 229.5 SHELL...

.WHAT DAMAGE DOES THIS DO? WHY ARE THEY USING WRONG GRADE? [MERC SPECIFY LOW ASH OIL FOR DIESEL S CLASS WITH PARTICLE FILTER.] WHAT DO I DO ABOUT IT?

2)MERC SPECIFY "fleece" RATHER THAN "paper" OIL FILTER FOR USE WITH 220.51 OIL..WHY DO UK USE PAPER [PART A642 180 00 09] HOW IMPORTANT IS IT?

Your Mercedes
2005 C270CDi Avantgarde Estate. Bought 2005, sold 2022.
1) This seems to be quite common - the dealer will probably insist that they did use the right oil but they wrote it down wrongly.

2) No idea

3) Is it a Mercedes approved used car (whatever the scheme is called these days)? Maybe there's a 30 day exchange period.
