Hi All

I am trying to source a reliable, economical, trustworthy mechanic/garage in the South Manchester or Stretford/Chorlton area?? - naturally someone who is good with Mercedes.

I'm near Macclesfield, and have been waiting with interest to see if anyone knew of a good Merc specialist just South of Manchester.

Apparently not...

(Nothing personal Andy, but - 75 miles on the M6 - not the most fun I've had in a Merc!)

The only place I have heard of is this one -http://www.mercedesusedparts.co.uk/service.htm
but they are in Bacup & I have never tried them.

Don't panic!! I think I could help! I do try to locate a relible garage before, try many of them is Manchester, finally I found one.

I live in Manchester central, next to UMIST, I used to be bring all of my cars to the locate garage, which near BBC, (opposite to the back door of BBC Manchester, next to Charles Street, York Street) who called: 'DC Motor Engineers'.

The garage run by the owner and his brother, very efficient, reliable, economical, and trustworthy, I trust him more then the any of the car dealer.

He fix alot of different car, but many of Merc, even the garage owner have two Merc (E-class), and he has sold me one (E as well), really nice and fine, never have problem.

If u don't mind, u could give him a try, he could do what ever you want, even ECU test, bodywork......

There is a chap who runs a Mercedes repair/service garage in Macclesfield. His name is Steve. SPR Autos on 01625 511361. He used to be at Macc Garages. He came to my house in Hale, twice when when I was really stuck and he might be the chap for you.
