I'm also thinking of taking the car to my local mechanic who worked on my previous car. I wanted to take to mercedes or deusch motors but they are expensive & Deusch I cannot trust.

My mechanic will charge £150 (VAT included) for parts & labour but it wont be mercedes service parts. Is that ok?

Why not buy the parts yourself from Mercedes then have your mechanic fit them.

i would always recommend using genuine mb parts, the caost difference is negligable offset against the quality.
