Mercedes Sprinter AdBlue mileage not resetting.

Hi there. We've got a 2019 Sprinter with an AdBlue problem as the system is completely full to the brim but the countdown to limp mode/non-start won't reset and it says that we're 130 miles from having no options. I've got Autel diagnostics but they don't seem to like the new Sprinter.

Updated (16:43, 6-3-23) The Autel does speak with the van! Says the metering valve us stuck. Anyone know what that means? Is it easy to access?

Any advice to save a whole load of diagnostic cost, please?

Visit a remapper and have the lot deleted.

Is one option.

Some code readers can readapt values . Icarsoft mb3 being one of them.

Sounds like the usual AdBlue issues on here where the doing pump etc gets blocked with crystals - some manage to clean out all the pipework and dosing system and refill with fresh AdBlue and the issue goes away. Others need a new combined pump and tank

I replaced adblue, added the forte suff. Done 3 k miles since incl 350 long one of run. Touching wood no issues since. A real pain as now use 2nd car for running around.
If only one car and short journeys . Replace adblue model or go down the adblue egr flap delete road.. Crap design marketed with no advise/education to consumer totally unfit as town car.

Mapped it out. Van now says it can do 65,000 miles before AdBlue runs out, and it doesn't go down at all. Had a performance map while it was there, too, as it costs the same to have both done. Luckily I know the mapper quite well so he does me favours. May get the two older Sprinters with AdBlue both mapped out rather than having any trouble with them.

Seems like that's the norm now , up here it's all done with a stage one map , whilst the ECU is out . £200 . It's a no brainer really.

Frankly. I wud lov to keep it legal. WHEN they design it properly. I believe most related issues now resolved. If so those that came before should be subject to a recall to ensure they are meeting the stds and are reliable.
In majority of cases delete would not be a desirable outcome if the makers had built it properly in the first place.

Had my 2020 (still under warranty) van do the same thing the other day, too. Said it was unable to give a reading of the AdBlue so it said it wouldn't start. Mental. What a shite system to have if it doesn't work properly. Now that I've mentioned AdBlue problems to a few people at garages, they all say how crap they are.

Knee jerk system not fit for purpose and foisted upon unsuspecting motorists just after the system hatched. No 1 example of r and d at customers expense not first, won't be last..
