Mercedes sprinter 2002 2.7 Diesel
Hi, my name is Cliff and I am a new member, I would love to know more about the sprintshift system that is fitted to our motorhome, was working fine, going into Auto and also able to change gear via the 6 speed gearbox, but the auto side has stopped working, have had the gearbox checked out by a gearbox company who state that the gearbox is fine and the problem is electrical. I wondered if any members has had this problem and how did they sort it.
The engine is a 2.7 diesel, 2002 with only 60,000 miles on the clock.

Dear clarkmichigan55b, many thanks for this link, it is very detailed and explains a lot, my problem is although I can select and run through all the gears, when I try to engage the automatic side of the gearbox it reverts back to manual gear change, it seems to be a electrical problem. I live in the south east of England and wondered if there is a repair specialist that knows this type of gearbox, thanks again.

Many thanks for the reply.
The only thing i can suggest is your local Mercedes Benz commercial dealer. If you do go down this route find out if any of the staff has the experience on this type of gearbox.
This is because this type of transmission has not been used for some time. I believe it was used on Ocado sprinter deliver vans of that period.
The dealer will be able to put it on the Star diagnostics to find if any fault codes stored.
Also check for any dirty or corroded electrical connections or any wires chafing.
