Hi I have a vito with water damage to the eis unit, it been tested and unrepairable, is my only option a new unit from Mercedes thanks rob

I'm sure others will confirm, or otherwise.
I don't have 1st hand experience but believe,
ehe EIS is matched as a set.
Ignition, key locks, ECU, and keys.
Matching sets can be sourced 2nd hand off eBay, but all need to be fitted.

Alternatively speak to

and see what they might do.

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my merc the key unit eis is damaged beyond repair, the problem I have I sent it away to be checked the company said it was unrepairable and wanted 150 pounds to tell me this which seemed very expensive just to test the unit, I refused to pay this amount so they scrapped the old unit,the problem I have now is apart from Mercedes where can I get a eis unit from any help would be very much appreciated thanks again Rob

You cant exppect people to work for nothing can you, they provided a conclusion of what they had inventigated, dignosed and found.

Think you should go to a merc dealer and ask them, there are also a few places online that repair who could probably answer with a quick call.

SInce the original is unit is now scrapped how would they recode a new unit without having your van. Just a thought

I dont expect people to work for nothing , having spoken to other key repair people they said it not a long job testing these unit , I wish I could get 75 pounds an hour labour rate thanks anyway
