Mercedes W107 500SL WOOD TRIM

Where can i find replacement wood trim for a 1982 500sl w107?
I have looked just about everywhere and found nothing.
I rang a Merc main dealer and they dsaid 275 + VAT which made me really happy until he mentioned the fact the price quoted was for ONLY the gearbox surround!! I didn't ask how much the complete set was going to be but by my estimate about £750+VAT.
I need it cheaper.
Tried all the second hand places but as my car has the rare AC switch its hard to find.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure yours can't be repaired?
If not you need to find someone who's breaking an sl or slc. What's unusual about your aircon switch? Most 107's have aircon, especially later ones.

Majority of the 2nd hand ones are incomplete or for the 73-79 model which had a different layout. My original wood is scratched and chipped in loads of places. And its the zebrano wood pattern which i hate!

OK, yeah I've seen the zebrano, I think it was only in the 500 - my 380 SLC has walnut, and it was one of the last (Nov 81). Shame to change the originality, but then I am an originality freak!
However, my aircon control is on the right and exactly matches the design of the fan control. I've seen the same layout on a lot of 107s so it can't be that rare.

Yeah, but did the coffee table have a three pointed star on it!!

I found a company that will revenner the old wood. The cost for it complete is only £150! The quailty of finish is the same if not better than the merc.
They will be able to fix broken wood, give them a call on 01270251432.
Only downside is that they need the wood sent to them and it can take up to 3 weeks to turnaround. But its better thyan the £900 for new wood from MERC!!!!

This company http://www.walnutdash.fsnet.co.uk/index.html were mentioned in Sunday Paper. It appears that they do wood kits for modern cars and can do bespoke work. I've never used them though.
