Credit to you Anton, amazing amount of work, how you kept yourself motivated from one rusted panel to the next I dont know. Have a 72 350SL which had a lot of work to do it( not as much as I thought) but had to take a break, all the welding was getting me down.
My opinion is that the 123s were the best built(had 2, 250 and 240D) but not as economical as the 124s.
Keep it up, look forward to see the finished project.
Regards
Mike

Now thats dedication ! Something tells me this isn't the first time you've tackled this sort of job.

Good luck with the rest of the restoration and keep those pictures coming !

By the way, love the bricks holding the car up here and there

You are doing a great job, Reminds of when I restored a RR, 17 years and 3 wives.
When do you hope to be finnished, or do you like working on it more than the driving.

Keep up the good work.

Here is some info about the project...
It is 1978. 230S model.
Well, I ran into a very cheap option for 600$ for completely W126 1985. 500SE.Only problem with the car was, that had bosnian papers, all other things, are good!
Everything on car works, from condition, to heating of front seats.
So, I wanted do make car, that original factory didn't do it ( if you ask me, I really don't understand, it would be a great hit! ), to put a V8 in W123, and that is why I called it "AMG tribute".
A bought that W123 for 70$, and it was also automatic, but had no automatic in it, because it was sold.
As you see, altough there is some rust, car is in very, very good shape, all major and vital parts are very good, construction itself is untacked!
Project started in may of 2006., and I hope it will be finished soon.

Outstanding work!

I'm considering attempting to put a chipped and tuned om606turbo into a w123 coupe. Rapid veg powered style!
