The little back street phone shops are the way to go they plug it into their computer and in ½ hour its free to work on any network.

I have had 2 done now and cost £10

Hi I think you might have an unsolvable problem without changing out the phone. Many manufacturers used to use a single band set up for their intergrated phones, this is the case with my 2000 Vauxhall Omega. The band is 900 Mhz or GSM900 if you like. Only Vodaphone and Cellnet still operate on this band so your phone isn't locked it just can't use any other network because they dont use the old frequency.

I agree. In the old days a phone would work with Voda/Cellnet or Orange/Virgin etc, but not both. Modern ones appear to be more flexible but that doesn't help.... unless you could use a bluetooth converter. Not sure if one would fit your setup but it maybe a better solution. Alfie sells them I believe
