just bought an 01 plate merceds clk 2.3 elegance the problem i have is the boot will only open on the key and you have to keep the key twisted to the left to do this it will not open on the remote fob or central locking any ideas where to start ?

Your locking is vacuum operated, the normal faults ar a vacuum pipe off or damaged, or the diaphragm faulty on the boot lock

For an indication of the fault, you can hear the PSE vacuum pump running when you lock, if a leak they will run for more than 5 sec, pipes and wires can breakk around the boot hinges, but start behind the panel
