This coming weekend we are looking to find the highest mileage car in the South West of England.

We will be filming at Powderham Castle in Exeter and if you own a car (any model, any year) that has been to the moon and back then please do get in touch as we would love to feature you car on our TV programme - The Used Car Roadshow.

As always we invite you to bring a guest with you and enjoy the day at he car event, we will cover petrol expenses, provide you with food and drinks and hopefully (if your car is the one with the highest mileage) you will win a prize too.

The Mercedes Press Office and the Mercedes Benz Owners Association have suggested I post a quick note on this forum in order to advertise this featured item for our show.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Marc

I came across an old mate at Shelsley Walsh hillclimb last month. He was still driving the same car that he had in the early 80's (even then he had already had the car for a while).

Currently he has a girlfriend in Plymouth but still lives in Scotland so does a fair amount of miles.

His Lotus Elan has done 480,000 miles but he reckons that very few parts have made the whole trip. The passenger seat is original.

Lotus are planning a big thing when he hits 500,000 miles.

Blimey... that's a lot of miles and certainly a big commute to see his girlfriend :)

Would you mind sending him my contact details in order to find out whether this feature would be of interest to him?

My office number is 0113 284 9183 or mobile 07966 061355.

Many thanks for the response.

Just phoned you friend but he didn't seem to keen to help :( maybe I scared him off by saying a phoned from a TV show. Was worth a try anyway.

Thanks for your help.
