All most ready to throw in the towel!

CLK 270 shudders and vibrates.
The car drives around town very smooth and is a joy to drive, when taken onto the motorway it turns in to a nightmare

I think that it’s a misfire but who knows.
If I run it up to 61 mph there is no problem at 62 mph it starts jump about, foot down hard and it gives a large shudder and pulls away smooth, reach cruse speed and it shuddering again, dropping the speed down to 51 mph stops the problem, dropping the speed by 1mph all the way to 52 mph does not help, rev counter is up and down at this speed.
Increasing speed by 1 mph all the way to 61 mph the problem is not there revs are consent
The problem seems to be more prevalent after the car has been running for 30mins.
Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

hi, dont want to sound stupid, is it just the engine misfiring at certain speeds? do you think the juddering/vibration has anything to do with the wheels/tyres?

You need to search the posts for 'Valeo' or 'Glycol'. It's a big issue. Take a deep breath and hope you have got an engine missfire.
What is the date of your car? Is it a CLK (W 209) pre Sept 2003?

Cars pre Sept 03 could well be affected if they've not had a rad mod done. I think your cars certainly a possible. I'm not sure enough of the symptoms, but lets say it is probably necessary for you to find out as much as you can off this forum about the Valeo Radiator problem, if not for this hesitating fault then for background info.
