Hi, I am after a little favour .......:p

I have just bought a 1999 SLK 230, but it has been de-badged, I am thinking of putting the Kompressor badges back on the wings, but would really appreciate a good pic of the wing to see exactly where the badge should go.........

Can anyone oblige please, it would be much appreciated :D

Thanks

When fitting badges, selotape on a flat straight stick, then place the figures on the stick using a spacer

Hi, also don't forget the order - if they're separate letters, that is.

Don't want to end up driving a KORMPESSOR

Good point John and there is a slightly bigger gap between the letters and where the numbers start, You have no second chance when putting them on

Oh I hope so :)

I am not sure whether to just put the SLK 230 on the boot and leave the sides as they are, or maybe put Kompressor on the boot too. Will have to study it carefully when I get it home :D

You must take car when putting a compressor on the boot, they do function better under the bonnet:rolleyes:

No, if buying new badges they will come already spaced and taped together in the proper order, just remember not to remove the letters from the tape, as malcolm suggests mark out the badged area and place a piece of tape or similar along the bottom edge and line up the badge accordingly,, also make sure the area is dry and if you apply some heat.. hairdryer..before and after fitting they will stick like ..sticky things...

When you get them they are stuck to a brown slippery backing, in the factory they have special holder where you pop the row of numbers in and then remove the backing and then press the whole block onto the car at the same time. They do have to come off the backing individually to go on, you get no second chance to adjust them.

Thinking on this if you put some masking tape over the front of the letters, you could then remove the backing and they would be spaced correctly, than you for posting extractorfan, problem solved

Thanks guys for all your help, I was thinking that I may just take the car to a dealer and get them to put them on!

As I will be buying the badges from them, maybe if I flutter eyelashes like mad they may be happy to fit them!
