Missing pixels on 2001 clk320 Cab

Anyone know of a company that can repair instrument cluster in south east UK? Ive been quoted £650 + VAT from mb dealer to replace entire unit. Thanks if anyone can help.

Its only a matter of packing out the connections on the ribbon cable within the unit, info in the DIY section, or there are firms that do it for £100

yes - the two firms that we normally recommend for this fault are speedofixer and BBA-reman so you should be safe bidding on there.

Where were these guys when I needed them 2 years ago!!

Don't worry though, I approached MBUK when mine went on the 240 and have been assured that this isn't a common fault - so you, and pretty much every other owner of that cluster have just been unklucky.

Fancy that! At least they're consistent, even if thats consistently wrong!

Anyway, speedofixer should be busy for a few years yet. They have solved the pixel issue on the newer 'round' dashes but replaced it with silly bulbs. My tacho went dark, called in for a new bulb and left with £850 worth of new cluster (warranty - phew!). The bulbs aren't replaceable apparently!!!!
